Shirley A. Endsley,  78, died May 12 at home in Great Bend. She was born Aug. 23, 1935 at Luray, the daughter of Clarence S. and Iva Clara (Palmer) Maupin.
She delivered buses for El Dorado Bus, Salina. Mrs. Endsley was a Great Bend resident since 2001, coming from Luray. She was a member of V. F. W. Auxiliary, Russell, Silver Legislature, and former member of Order of Eastern Star.  She was a volunteer at the Great Bend Senior Center.
Survivors include two sons: Jesse Merchant and wife Lynn of Lucas, and Larry Merchant and his wife Rose of Holcomb; one daughter: Ellen Moran and her husband John of Great Bend; two sisters: Shelley Grecian and her husband Rick of Topeka, Dorothy Farley of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Maupin, and two sisters, Reva Faye Musgrove and Lola J. Maupin.
The funeral service is 10:30 a.m. on  Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with Father Don Bedore. Interment is at Luray Cemetery, Luray. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Bryant Funeral Home.
