ELLINWOOD — Shirley A. Heaton, 79, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Oct. 12, 2015. Born Sept. 25, 1936, in Ronan, Mont., she was the daughter of Archie E. Berry and Alice (Frazier) Bader. She worked as a homemaker, drove a school bus, and was a cook for the hospital in Lakin. She loved to play bingo and cards.
Survivors include two sons, Zane Gray of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Randie Baker of Lakin; three daughters, Robin Gray and Ronda Krier (Darryl) both of Ellinwood, and Lori Haefner (Curtis) of Onago; two sisters, Charlene Truax of Wilsall, Mont., and Delsie Bader of Sutton, Neb.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family burial at Lakin Cemetery in Lakin at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Heartland Cancer Center in Great Bend in care of the funeral home.
