Theresa H. Dykes Carlson 1931-2012

Theresa H. Dykes Carlson,  81, did Dec. 16, in Salina.  Born Feb. 27, 1931 at Beaver, she was the daughter of Joseph F. and Teresa (Hoffman) Hipp.  On July 15, 1950, she married Billy Dykes in Great Bend.  He died March 24, 1995.  She then married Phil Carlson Sept. 1, 2000, in Great Bend.  He survives.
A longtime resident of Great Bend, living a short time in Salina, Theresa was a cook at St. Rose Catholic School until her retirement in 1993.
She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.  
Survivors include her husband Phil Carlson, of the home.  She is also survived by five sons: Mark Dykes of Blaine, Minn., Jeff Dykes and wife Carol of Salina, Luke Dykes and wife Renee of Great Bend, Gary Dykes and wife Darcy of Salina, Matt Dykes and wife Tami of Great Bend, and five daughters: Lois Rossiter and husband Dan of Mangum, Okla., Gail Cooper and husband Carl of Great Bend, Jane Maresch and husband Edward of Salina, Tina Delzeit of Mangum, Okla. and Lori Morris and husband Tim of Colby.  Also, one brother, Gene Hipp (Bev)of Sedgewick, and 27 grandchildren and 22  great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dana Marie; three brothers: Joseph, Robert, and Edwin Hipp; and by two sisters, Helen Izard, and Josephine Schrader.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Dec. 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m,, Thursday, Dec. 20, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Altar Society Rosary will be Thursday, Dec. 20, at 4:00 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.  A Vigil Service with Rosary will be Thursday, Dec. 20, at 7:00 p.m, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend.  Memorials may be made to Kans for Kids or Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
