Vicki J. Smith, age 75 years, of Great Bend, Kan. passed away on Saturday evening, Aug. 7, 2021 at Almost Home in Great Bend. Vicki was born on Aug. 14, 1945 at Garden City, Kan. to William and Beatrice (Wolfe) Elliott. The family lived in Ulysses and Atwood, Kan. prior to moving to Great Bend in 1984. Vicki was a 911 Dispatcher for Barton County Communications in Great Bend, retiring in 2007 after 18 years of service. A longtime member of First Church of God in Great Bend, she served on the Board of Trustees for many years. Vicki was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of both Ulysses and Great Bend, and loved to read and watch old movies on TV.  

Survivors include one son, Brett (and Gwen) Maris of Trenton, Neb.; two birth daughters, Traci Maris and Tara Elliott, both of Great Bend; her chosen daughter, Eden (and Benny) Mulligan of Great Bend, Kan. and her children Alex, Maddex, Harmon, and Carter Mulligan; four grandchildren,  Lexi Maris, Heaven Williams, Tuff Elliott, and Saylor Wittman; three great-grandchildren, Lycan Williams, Saint Martensen, and Averi Robinson; one brother, Gail Elliott of Sequim, Wash. and one sister, Karen Harbour of Ulysses, Kan. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, William “Jr.” Elliott, Robert “Bob” Elliott, Jerry Elliott, Betta Niederer, and Billie Carter; one grandson, Cody Maris; and one great-grand-daughter, Nova Martensen.  

Cremation has been chosen and there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at First Church of God in Great Bend, Kan. with Pastor Tom Swain officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kan. Memorials may be designated to First Church of God in Great Bend, Kan.
