HUTCHINSON — Victor W. Krebaum, 75, died April 25. He was born Sept. 11, 1937, at Great Bend, the son of Raymond A. and Mable M. Ward Krebaum. He graduated from Great Bend High School, and attended Hutchinson Community College and the University of Kansas. On Dec. 20, 1959, he married Reita Jane Krey, living in Houston and Ft. Worth, Texas, before returning to Kansas in 1962. Following his marriage, he began a successful career of nearly 50 years as an insurance agent, receiving numerous awards, retiring in 2009.
Mr. Krebaum was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hutchinson.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years; three sons, Jim and his wife Kathy, Hutchinson, Steve and his partner, Scott Berry, Dallas, Texas, and Greg and his wife Patti, Hutchinson; a brother, Jim and his wife Judy, Great Bend; three grandchildren, Amber and husband Josh Knopp, Katie and husband Jeremy Stokely, and Alex Krebaum; two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Mylee Knopp; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, at Elliott Chapel with Pastors Amy Dame and Roy Jaye officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter or Hospice & Homecare of Reno County in care of the mortuary.
