MESA, Ariz. — Violetta Louise “Vi” (Oetken) Karst, 81, died April 26, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness.
Violetta was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Albert, to the late Otto, Sr., and Ellen (Arnold) Oetken.
Violetta is survived by her husband of 62 years, Marvin; her daughter Karen and husband Richard Hoskins; her grand-daughter, Lindsay Hoskins; her sister, Betty Huenergardt; numerous nieces, a nephew and friends. Preceding her in death was her brother, Otto Oetken Jr.
A celebration of life is scheduled at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at the Highland Hotel and Convention Center, Heritage Room in Great Bend. Come join the family as we share memories of Vi’s life. A graveside service is scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday, July 29 at the Great Bend Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made in memory of Violetta to the Alzheimer’s Association.
