Virginia Manning 1921 - 2013

ELLINWOOD — Virginia Manning, 91, died May 20 at her home in Ellinwood. Born Dec. 16, 1921 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of E. Aubrey Smith and Hazel Converse Smith. In 1939, she graduated from Ellinwood High School. On May 17, 1940 she married Delmar Manning in Ellinwood. He died on Oct. 11, 2005. A lifetime resident of Ellinwood, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Manning was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ, Grove Park Golf Club, both in Ellinwood and was an Eastern Star.
Survivors include her son, Larry (Connie) Manning of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; a daughter, Sue Ann (Rollie) Peter, of Ellinwood; four grandchildren, Robert (Serena) Manning of Ingram, Texas, Mark (Margo) Manning of Dallas, Texas, Kristyn Chambers of Austin, Texas, and Roxanne (Michael) Flores of San Antonio, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Ellinwood with the Rev. Kasey Crosby officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel United Church of Christ or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
