LARNED — Wanda Lee Hurde, age 76, passed away at Diversicare of Larned, on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017.
Born Dec. 4, 1941 in McAllester, she was the daughter of William and Othella Brooks. Wanda was a longtime area resident committed to her family and church.
Wanda was an active member of Escue Chapel, CME Church, Larned, where she served as Missionary, past Treasurer, Choir Member, Stewardess, and Chairman of the Benevolent Board.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Lorenzo Hurde Sr.; daughter, Lorainna K. Holzmeister, Denver Colo.; daughter and husband, Melinda L. and Thomas L. Hinson, Topeka; son and wife Lorenzo Jr. and Cheryl Hurde, Dodge City; sister Billie Hammond, Denver, Colo.; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Wanda is preceded in death by sisters, Arzola Davis and Marie McPherson; and brother, Raymond Brooks.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Cameron J. Moore and Reverend Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m to 8 p.m Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Wanda L. Hurde memorial fund in care of Beckwith Mortuary, P.O.
