Wesley R. Mohr Jr., 54, passed away Dec. 3, 2021, at University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus, Great Bend.  He was born Nov. 1, 1967, in Hutchinson, to Wesley R. and Ida Mae (DeBoard) Mohr, Sr. Wes married Lisa Kern Nov. 9, 1991, in Great Bend.  

Wes, a resident of Great Bend since 1999 coming from Wichita, was the owner and operator of A-One Automotive.  Being of the Christian faith, Wes used his generosity and gift of mechanics to help many people of the community.  He was a former board member of the Barton Community College Automotive Department and was passionate about racing, being nationally ranked with many racing circuits and organizations.  One of his most renowned achievements was being the recipient of the Hutchinson Grand National Champion.  Above all, he was a dedicated family man, especially enjoying his children’s activities, especially Quick Silver softball and Bombers Baseball. 

Survivors include: his wife, Lisa, and his children, Taylor Vasquez, Kylee Mohr and Slade Mohr all of the home; three brothers, Phillip Stefanski of Mo., Eldon Stefanski of Great Bend and Jeff Stefanski of Hoisington; six sisters, Cheryl Asher of Mo., Marla Derstein of Mo., Jeanie Field of Nickerson, Dee Gisel (Dennis) of Lawrence, Kathy Bush of Hutchinson, and Tina Mohr (Gary) of Cal.; uncle, Kenneth Mohr (Shari) of Ga.; aunt, Arletta Detherage of Great Bend; father and mother-in-law, Terry and Marie Kern of Great Bend; brother-in-law, Pat Kern of Great Bend, and sister-in-law, Loretta Murphy (Jim) of Great Bend. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Patrick Stefanski and Eric Stefanski; son-in-law, Adrian Vasquez and a brother-in-law, Mike Kern.

Memorial services will be on 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at Stoneridge Country Club, 1438 24th St., Great Bend, with Pastor Aaron Withrow presiding.  As per Wes’ wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no viewing or visitation.  Memorials may be given to the Children’s Education Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
