William Clyde Murphey 1941 - 2012

CUNNINGHAM — William Clyde Murphey, 70, died Feb. 28 at Stafford County Hospital in Stafford. Born May 29, 1941 in Scott City, he was the son of Lloyd and Marguerite (Bivens) Murphey. A lifetime resident of Cunningham, he was a farmer/stockman.

Mr. Murphey was a U.S. veteran, serving in the Marine Corps.

Survivors include two daughters, Dana Murphey of Ellinwood, and Heather Murphey of Lexington, Ky.; a brother Ronald Murphey of Texoma, Okla.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Anita Murphey.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt with Mike McGovney officiating. Burial will be at the Shelman Cemetery in Cunningham. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday with family receiving friends from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pratt Area Humane Society in care of the mortuary.
