GREAT BEND — William R. Rose, 83, died Dec. 13, 2012 at his home in Great Bend.
Born April 18, 1929 in Hudson, he was the son of Chester and Mary (Krkosska) Rose. On Aug. 14, 1954, he married Juanita Irene Burhenn in Great Bend. She died on Oct. 26, 2011. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was formerly a fuel delivery driver for Great Bend Co-op and currently drove a truck for Concrete Service and Sunflower Backhoe.
Mr. Rose was a veteran of the Unites States Army. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Great Bend.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Rose, Concord, N.C.; and Helen Tiede and her husband Dale, Riverside, Mo.; a sister, Irene Walls, St. John; and two grandchildren, Robert Tiede and his wife Jennifer, Kansas City, Mo.; and Jeffrey Tiede of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Rose, seven brothers, and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God in Great Bend with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend with military rites by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with family receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home.
