Wilma “Faye” Loftis, 90, passed away on Feb. 27, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kan. She was born on April 15, 1931, at Bigelow, Ark., to A.B. and Clemmie (Johnson) Wiley. Faye was married to Richard Loftis on Sept. 1, 1949, at Perryville, Ark. He died June 3, 2014.
Faye was a long-time Great Bend, Kan. resident. She worked mostly as a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed word searches, fishing, gardening: both flowers and vegetables, watching old westerns, and listening to old country music.
Survivors include five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Jimmy Loftis; and a daughter, Carol Welsch.
Visitation will take place Friday, March 4, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022, at Great Bend Cemetery with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Memorials can be made to St. Joseph Indian School, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
