Jeb is Wrong on Common Core

Jeb Bush has a new immature insult for parents, university professors and teachers who recognize Common Core standards are a hindrance to your children’s education: “You believe in unicorns.”
Yes, Jeb Bush is resorting to liberal-style name-calling of those whose intellectual and professional research and experience of Common Core reveal a failed top-down design.
“Unicorns are Not Real” is actually the name of a very real group of bi-partisan elitists determined to continue the failed experiment of cookie-cutter federal children’s education by bullying and verbally abusing anyone who challenges control by the central planning committee in Washington, D.C.
If you don’t believe in Common Core like he does, Jeb Bush says you’re an ignorant fantasist.
Conservatives have been reporting on Common Core problems since the federal government first shocked Americans with the scheme, threatening states by refusing billions of dollars in education funding if they don’t blindly accept the deal.
Liberals snickered.
Parents working exhaustedly with their school children began studying the assessment tests and learned firsthand of the problems.
Soon after, college professors researching Common Core discovered the standards will not help high school students be ready for college.
Dr. James Milgram of Stanford University and Dr. Sandra Stotsky of the University of Arkansas reported, “At this time we can only conclude that a gigantic fraud has been perpetrated on this country, in particular on parents in this country, by those developing, promoting, or endorsing Common Core’s standards.”
Jeb Bush accuses them of seeing unicorns.
Dr. Alan Manning of Brigham Young University says, “The Core standards just set in concrete approaches to reading/writing that we already know don’t work very well. Having the Core standards set in concrete means that any attempts to innovate and improve reading/writing
instruction will certainly be crushed.”
Perhaps Jeb doesn’t consider Brigham Young, Arkansas or Stanford to be “real” universities.
“Education reform in the United States is being driven largely by ideology, rhetoric, and dogma instead of evidence,” says Dr. Christopher Tienken of Seton Hall University, “Where is the evidence of the efficacy of the standards? ... Let us be very frank: The CCSS are no improvement over the current set of state standards.”
Jeb Bush apparently believes Seton Hall’s mascot is the unicorn.
After the teachers unions leaders ignored the conservative Town Hall meetings, teachers themselves discovered the truth and lobbied their union leaders.
The Chicago Teachers Union revolted against their Democratic Party, resolving to compel the state to abolish Common Core.
“I agree with educators and parents from across the country, the Common Core mandate represents an overreach of federal power into personal privacy as well as into state educational autonomy,” said CTU President Karen Lewis, a nationally board certified teacher. “Common Core eliminates creativity in the classroom and impedes collaboration. We also know that high-stakes standardized testing is designed to rank and sort our children and it contributes significantly to racial discrimination and the achievement gap among students in America’s schools.”
Jeb Bush wants all of you Illinois teachers to know that he says you’re hallucinating unicorns.
In New York, the teachers union has successfully encouraged over 180,000 students to opt-out of the English language arts exams.
Jeb Bush wants all of you New York parents to know he believes you are ignorant fools hallucinating unicorns.
Now, thousands of American parents are filing forms for their children, “opting out” of the high-stakes tests. School boards and states are helping parents to opt out.
Jeb Bush believes all of you American parents are ignorant fools hallucinating unicorns, not worthy of his respect.
46 states originally succumbed to President Obama’s pressure to accept Common Core. 12 have since introduced legislation to repeal the standards and Indiana has withdrawn from the standards.
Jeb Bush believes you’re stupid enough to vote for him.
Let’s all read more about Common Core and prove him wrong.
