8th Street will be nice, but work is needed elswhere

Dear editor.
In the Great Bend Tribune Thursday May 10, newspaper there is an article about 8th street improvements still on for July, but there are issues to be ironed out. This is a good project and it will help relive some of the burden of the traffic congestion on 10th Street.
But I believe that you have the cart before the horse. Before you ever start on this project you really need to fix the intersection of 10th and McKinley, there is no left-hand yield signal for the north- and southbound traffic. Now you are wanting to dump more traffic on to an already busy street.
I am hoping that someone reading this article is on the City Council will wake up and fix this problem. This problem has been around for a long time and it really needs to be addressed.
It will be great to have the 8th Street improvement project up and running.
Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns about this great city we live in.
