I encourage you to vote for Dean Akings for Barton County Commission 5th District.
Dean has devoted his life to serving this community as evidenced in his choice of work as Chief of Police and former City Manager of Great Bend. He has demonstrated an active interest in the youth of our community, initiating youth drug prevention programs and supporting the Special Olympics organization. For over 25 years, Dean has been instrumental in the coordination of the Special Olympics Torch Run, which recognizes people with Developmental Disabilities here locally and state wide.
Dean has been closely involved in this community and understands its opportunities. His common sense approach to solving problems and providing leadership would serve our county well.
