Dear Editor,
The Annual Mission Benefit Bazaar of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in Great Bend on Nov. 8, was once again a wonderful success!
We, Dominican Sisters of Peace and Associates are awe-fully thankful to the City of Great Bend and the Great Bend Tribune for its excellent advertisement of our Mission Bazaar, and to all our friends in surrounding areas for your continuing response to this effort to raise funds to assist others. Because you, our friends, create items for the sale all during the year, because you come the week before to prepare the auditorium for the sale, and because you come as generous shoppers on the actual day, this bazaar becomes a much wider community to help needy and deserving people across global boundaries. For whatever way you supported this endeavor, please consider yourselves true “missionaries!” You have helped the Dominican Sisters of Gusau, Nigeria, to help their own people and to minister in other countries. It never seems that Nigeria and other African countries are ever at peace; they have suffered from disease, unrest, and violence for longer than we want to remember. Now they once again know that we care not only about their faith development but also about their daily needs. You are also “missionaries” here at home as you help us assist the poor and vulnerable where our Sisters minister in Kansas and Colorado. A sincere “Thank you!” from all the Dominican Sisters of Peace and our Associates!
Please know that each benefactor to this effort, especially the generous businesses of Great Bend and the mission-minded people of the surrounding area, are daily remembered in the prayer of the Dominican Sisters of Peace and our Associates wherever we minister.
Peace and blessings to each of you.
