The American Red Cross is urging eligible blood donors to give thanks for good health by donating blood this Thanksgiving.
Only 111 million Americans are eligible to give blood.
That’s just over 37 percent of the U.S. population.
Of those, only about 3 percent actually donate blood.
It takes about an hour to donate blood and one donation has the potential to save up to three lives.
Locally you can donate at the Great Bend Community Blood Drive on Monday, from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the River of Life Foursquare Church at 1219 Main Street.

Imagine what would happen if there wasn’t enough blood for hospital patients in need.
Don’t be a turkey!
Give blood and give others a reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving and throughout the year.
