Dear Editor,
Susan Young has been my neighbor and friend for the last ten years. We share many of the same values and interests. I know her to be dependable, helpful and a person of her word.  
She taught at Eisenhower School, Fort Leavenworth, The Learning Tree Preschool and Saint Mary’s School, both in Gainesville, Texas and Riley and Lincoln Schools in Great Bend for a total of 35 years. In 2006 Susan was celebrated as USD #428’s Teacher of the Year. Since she retired in May of 2014, she has enjoyed spending time with her husband Don, son Brian and her three grandchildren.
As a former teacher, Susan knows the importance of a strong public school system and how it relates to the community. Susan understands the responsibility of the local Board of Education to promote and further scholastic achievement for every student in our district. She is willing and prepared to take on that responsibility as a member of that Board.  
Please come and learn about Susan at the League of Women Voters Candidates Forum on March 25, at 7 pm at the Crest Theater in Great Bend.
