Memories flood back

Dear Editor,
Dr. Dan Witt wrote an article on his experiences about elk hunting for your paper. I enjoy his writings. Keep up the good work, Doc.
In the early 1960’s, I was a firefighter on a hotshot crew stationed out of Encampment, Wyo. in the Medicine Bow National Forest. After reading Dr. Witt’s writings on elk hunting in Colorado, old memories come flooding back and I immediately got on the phone and tried to hook up with old buddies I ran with back then. Wow, What memories!! Thank you, Doctor, you made me feel 50 years younger for a while! I shall never forget the squall of a bull elk that had slipped up to about 50 feet behind me and cut loose with his bugle. My heart about blew out of the top of my head. I was shaking so bad, I could not shoot a picture of him before he sensed me and cut out. Thanks again Doctor.
