National Child Abuse Awareness Month

Dear Editor,
April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month, but you can make a difference all year long through your support of Royal Family KIDS.  Royal Family KIDS, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is a national network of camps for abused, neglected and abandoned children. By mobilizing local churches to sponsor a one-week camp for abused and neglected children in their local community, the organization gets caring adults involved in the lives of children who need them. Each camp has two goals: make positive childhood memories for the kids and let them experience unconditional love from an adult. We are honored to be able to offer a week of hope, healing and summer fun to local foster children. Great Bends camp will be held from June 30-July 4, 2014.
How can you get involved? We are in need of adult buddies for our boy and girl campers, activities and rec center helpers, birthday party organizers and helpers, registration personal on the first day of camp, help organizing and setting up for Welcome Home Dinner, prayer partners, help getting sponsors/donations, and monetary gifts. Our camp budget is based on your gifts and is not possible without them.
If you would like more information on how you help shape the worldview, future, self-image and heart of an abused child, please call Melissa Widiger at 620-786-0687 or Kelley Johnson at 620-786-0311.
