Pawnee Rock clean-up

Dear Editor,
On behalf of the City of Pawnee Rock, I would like to thank all of the citizens of Pawnee Rock for their quick response to clean up after the ice storm.
Trees and limbs have been hauled off quickly and many properties are back to as close to normal as possible.
The City has been striving to clean up abandoned properties, absent owner properties, and encourage locals to upkeep their properties.
This is all meeting with great success. Over the past year, seven different properties have been cleaned up by the city, including cutting and hauling away trees, many dumpsters of trash and debris hauled off, removing broken down sheds and buildings, hauling off old vehicles and other metal.
We would like to thank the Barton County Solid Waste Department and Kansas Department of Health and Environment for their assistance.
A huge thank you to Shane Bowman, City of Pawnee Rock Maintenance Supervisor. His dedication to the City and hard work have been the
catalyst for the cleanup.
