Take care of our own refugees

Dear Editor,
I disagree with Susan Thacker’s “Viewpoint: Help refugees - Syrian lives matter” on so many points that it’s hard to know where to begin. “The president spoke of the need to address the agony of the Syrian people..” That’s great!! Where was he when the Syrian people were begging the U.S. to help them fight against the Assad regime? He drew his “red line” and then backed away from it.

Even his military advisers told him that intervention was desperately needed. But the arrogant fool did nothing. So now he wants to bring a total of over 150,000 Syrian “refugees” to the U.S. over the next two years. Here’s why that’s a bad idea: The 9/11 attacks were carried out by MUSLIM TERRORISTS. The Boston Marathon bombing was carried out by MUSLIM TERRORISTS. Nidal Hasan, the Fort Hood shooter, is a MUSLIM TERRORIST. The recent bloody attack in Paris was carried out by MUSLIM TERRORISTS. Several innocent people of ALL faiths have been tortured and beheaded by...you guessed it...MUSLIM TERRORISTS. See, these horrendous slaughters are not being carried out by Christians, or Hindus, or Buddhists. They are all the handiwork of extremist Muslims.  And among those Syrian “refugees” are MUSLIM TERRORISTS!!

Oh, yeah, we are going to “vet” them...so what does that mean, exactly? We’re going to ask them, “Are you a Muslim terrorist?” and when they answer, “No”, we’re going to open the borders to them? Ms. Thacker, if I gave you 10 grapes and told you that 2 of them were poison but I wouldn’t tell you which ones, would you eat ANY of them? I’ll bet you lock your doors at night. Is that because you hate everyone outside? No, it’s to protect yourself and your loved ones that are inside.

Yes, Syrian lives matter. But so do American lives...and French lives, and the lives of those innocent victims who were beheaded by ISIS thugs mattered too. But there is a way that the U.S. - and other nations - can help the Syrians. How about securing our borders, relocating the refugees to a “safe zone” in their own region, and  giving our military full authorization to destroy ISIS? President Obama insisted in 2012 that al qaeda was “on its heels” (BIG LIE); and just a day or two before the Paris attack he said that ISIL “is contained” (BIG LIE).

The only way to stop these murdering cowards is to take the war to them, no holds barred. He talks about “the values that we’re fighting against ISIL for...” Ever wonder what the difference is between ISIS and ISIL? ISIS is an acronym for the “Islamic State of Iraq and Syria”. ISIL stands for the “Islamic State of Iraq and Levant”. The geographical term “Levant” refers to a multi-nation region in the Middle East, basically a land bridge between Turkey to the north and Egypt to the south. And smack in the middle of the nations that comprise the Levant is Israel. So when Obama says “ISIL”, he is in effect saying to the world that he does not recognize Israel as an independent nation.

Ms. Thacker, don’t Israeli lives matter? This president is anti-Semitic and anti-Israel and he doesn’t even try to hide it.

And as for the final paragraph of the editorial, it never ceases to amaze me how when it comes to abortion, there is no place for God or Jesus or organized religion. Apparently the lives of unborn children DON’T matter. But when it comes to indiscriminately allowing people to enter the U.S., threatening the safety of Americans, then liberals rush to quote the Bible. What would Jesus do? I’m sure He’d help the real refugees, i.e. women, children, the elderly, etc. But would He help fit, healthy militarily-trained murderers to invade our homeland? I doubt it.

One more thing. In case you haven’t noticed, there are homeless veterans, homeless families, and hungry children right here in the U.S. It seems to me that we should be taking care of our own “refugees” before we start giving handouts to people who hate us and everything we stand for.
