Dear Editor,
Many thanks to Recreation Center Director Dianne Henderson and her staff for a very outstanding and successful spring indoor soccer program. The little children were in instructional training. The 2/3, 4, 5, and 6th, middle school and high school boys and girls competed during the weekends. The adult leagues participated on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On one of the Barton College boy’s team, there were participants from Ireland, Scotland, and New Guinea.
The south bleachers were filled with parents, grandparents, and friends as they watched some very excellent competition between teams. At the adult games, it was great to see little two to six year olds hurry to the rec floor to try and get the soccer ball into the net.
Thanks again to the Rec Center personnel for providing excellent entertainment for the community.
