Dear Editor,
Another successful project and year made possible because of you generosity and support of the Great Bend #180 American Legion Family’s Adopt–A-Veteran project at Fort Dodge that answered and fulfilled Christmas wishes of 142 veterans (for an approximate value of $7,000).
Once again, the opportunity to travel to Dodge City to the Soldier’s Home and see the surprise and delight on their faces proved priceless and memorable.
A heartfelt thank you to members of the American Legion Family (American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and American Legion Riders) but also to local individuals and businesses of our community for your part in making this another special Christmas to remember!
Together, from picking a veteran’s name tag off the tree, to shopping and lovingly wrapping gifts, making a donation, or shopping, wrapping and helping to deliver the remaining gifts for the celebration, we appreciate each and every one of you who participated and know we couldn’t have done it without you! Many of you even joined us at Fort Dodge and even brought a service dog for the veterans to enjoy! See you next year!! Thank you for all you do!!!
