Dear Editor,
The Larned Orphan Grain Train Distribution Center Committee members would like to take this time to thank United Way and the people of Larned. Great Bend, and the surrounding communities for their generous donations in money, clothing and labor since we have been open.
Thanks to the United Way of Central Kansas with a donation of $10,000, along with other donations, we have been able to repair the roof, which was in bad shape. We will also get the soffits repaired at a later date.
This building, which was the old courthouse, also houses the Larned Food Pantry, Helping Hands, and is a location for Commodity Distribution and Pawnee Co. Extension food aid.
