The controversy around the “strange behavior” of Great Bend City Council and the Chief Couch controversy is worthy of a comment. Early last month, I wrote a forum commending Cliff Couch for his illustrative talk to an over crowded council meeting. I commended Chief Couch for his raw courage and leadership. I still stand by those commendations.
My dad had a saying when things were not clear. He would say “things don’t square.” That wisdom helps explain the latest quest. Or maybe we might say that of the city council’s weird behavior: the council’s behavior is the Midas touch in reverse. Whatever, the city councils weird behavior leaves good government in the dark.
Chief Couch is a young leader and Great Bend is lucky to have him. Keep it up chief – the sun comes up in the morning.
