To the editor:
The Pilot Club of Great Bend would like to thank everyone who helped make our “Strategies for Children at Home and in the Classroom” Autism Workshop a success. Gaining knowledge and understanding helps with awareness and acceptance towards those who think differently than us and lessens the stigma of having this life altering disorder.
First, BCC graciously let us use their facilities. Heather, facilities manager, Ron and Robbie in IT, and Tracey in Food Service were excellent to work with. Many were generous contributors: Sunflower Early Education Center, Wolf Hotel in Ellinwood, Kiwanis Club, Eagle Radio, Mpire Realty, Barton County Health Department, the Chamber of Commerce, KWCH in Wichita, Perkins, Farmer’s State Bank, Jim and Kathy Armatys, Medical Park Pharmacy, Keller Real Estate, Great Bend Coop, Marilyn Kopke, USD 428, Barton County Special Services, as well as anonymous donors, our speakers, panel members, and volunteers.
And thanks to the Great Bend Tribune for running our articles as we approached this event.
We look forward to providing another workshop in 2024!
Ros Neeland, Chair
