The Region VI post-season tournament pairings are set with the Jayhawk West Champion Barton baseball the No. 2 overall seed.
The top seed rotates year-to-year for the winner of the East and winner of the West.
Barton, 40-12 on the year and ranked No. 18 in the NJCAA, will host Allen County this weekend in a best-of-3 series. The winner will move on to the Region VI double-elimination bracket in Wichita the following weekend.
Allen County, which finished seventh in the East and is the No. 15 seed, is 25-25 overall this year after going 14-22 in the East.
The first game will be Friday will start at 3p.m.. The Saturday contest will get underway at 1 p.m. and if needed the Sunday game will also have a first pitch of 1 p.m..
The winner of the series will open the double-elimination portion of the tournament in Wichita May 11 against the winner of the Johnson County-Cloud County series. That series will take place in Overland Park.
The West title for Barton is the first since 1994. The Cougars won seven of their eight West series by a 3-1 margin, splitting its final series with West runner-up Butler.
Allen County finished the year by splitting its 4-game series with Independence. Allen does own a single win over each the 2-3-4-5 finishers in the East in Fort Scott, Neosho County, Johnson County and Coffeyville.
