DODGE CITY — The Barton Community College volleyball team rallied in the fourth set to capture a 3-1 match victory on Wednesday evening over Dodge City.
The Lady Cougars took the first game 25-21, and dominated the second 25-15 to appear well on the way to a three-set sweep.
However, Dodge City regrouped and raced out to an early five-point lead to hold off the Lady Cougars, in winning the third set 25-22.
The Lady Conquistadors carried the momentum into the fourth, again building an early lead, only to have Barton reclaim the lead late in the set.
Facing match point at 24-23, Dodge City rallied to tie it before the Cougars won 28-26.
Barton remains in third place in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Western Division at 7-3, and improve to 8-13 overall.
Dodge City falls to 10-19 overall, 2-9 in conference play.
The Lady Cougars will travel to West Plains, Mo., to participate in the Missouri State University-West Plains Grizzly Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
