With the Region VI meet just a couple weeks away, Coach Dave Schenek is working his personnel. The Barton Community College track coach took a limited number of women to the Husker Invitational.
“It was a small travel group for us,” Coach Schenek said. “We are in a stage where are starting to prepare for the Region VI meet.”
The results weren’t spectacular with only one event placing in the Top 10. That was the 4x400m relay team of Widline Lageroy, Vanessa Style, O’Neisha Glover, and Tamara Style. The quartet ran a 3:50.44 for sixth in the event that closed out the meet.
That same list of women also ran in some individual events.
Vanessa Style ran in two events, missing the finals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.64. She also ran a 25.10 in the 200m while Glover ran a 26.49.
The other event the Cougars participated in was the 400m. In the race Lageroy ran a 58.19 while Tamara Style ran a 1:00.35.
The Cougars will head to Fayetteville, Ark. this weekend for a very tough Tyson Invitational on the campus of the University of Arkansas. The following weekend Barton will take place in the Region VI meet in Ahearn Fieldhouse on the campus of Kansas State.
The NJCAA Indoor Championships are set for March 6-7 in Albuquerque, N.M.
