The Barton Community College baseball team pounded Bethany JV 23-5 at Lawson-Biggs Field on Tuesday in a non-conference game.
The Cougars advance to 22-15 overall. They are currently 11-9 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division.
BCC also split a pair of doubleheaders on the road with KJCCC foe Colby on Saturday and Sunday.
Colby won the first game on Saturday 2-0, but the Cougars had a big game offensively in the nightcap, winning 13-5.
Sunday went the same for BCC, which lost the first game 9-5, but scored 18 runs to top Colby 18-12 in the second.
In Game 2 on Saturday, the top of Barton’s batting order was able to get it done with lead-off hitter Jordan Slade and the No. 2 man Federico Castagnini each driving in three runs.
In the Cougars’ win on Sunday, the middle of the order was the difference with the No. 4, 5 and 6 hitters Nathan Miller, Ryan Busboom and Corey Hatchel, combining for 12 RBIs.
BCC softball team drops two in Nebraska
McCOOK, Neb. — The Barton softball team was swept in a non-conference doubleheader with McCook on Tuesday, losing 4-3 in the first game and 10-4 in the nightcap.
Barton drops to 1-19 overall. They are 1-7 in the KJCCC Western Division.
