BCC men run at Emporia Invite

EMPORIA — The Barton men’s cross country team ran for the second time year Friday night at Emporia as part of the Emporia State Papa John’s Invitational.
The Cougars finished 17th at the event, won by the host Emporia State Hornets.
Emporia won with 61 points, followed by Butler with 96, Park and Cloud County finished with 104 and Washburn was fifth with 114.
Barton had a team score of 415. Other Jayhawk schools at the event were Highland with 176, Garden City with 272, and Dodge City with 276.
James Tallan led the Cougars, placing 44th. The freshman from Grenada ran a time of 29:16.38 on the 8K course. Nathan Hood, also a freshman form Grenada, was 79th in 30:54.59.
Great Bend freshman Mason Yellowwolf ran a 32:13.92 to place 100th. Lyndon Burrell was 123rd with a 34:13.94 and Javon Patterson 134th with a 37:33.00.
