Former Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein, a Heisman Trophy finalist this past season, is kicking off a tour of Kansas in mid-July for his Collin Klein Passing Academy.
It starts on Monday, July 15, in Wichita. The Wichita West High School football field, located at 820 S. Osage St., is the site of his first academy, followed by stops at Liberal on July 16, July 17-18 at Garden City, July 19 in Manhattan, July 22 in Topeka, July 23 in Salina and July 24 in Dodge City.
Klein led Kansas State to a share of the Big 12 Conference championship this past fall, where the Wildcats secured a berth in the Fiesta Bowl against Oregon, finishing 11-2 overall.
Klein, who wasn’t selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, was invited for a tryout with the Houston Texans, although he hasn’t signed a free-agent contract. Opting to try out as a quarterback instead of trying another position, Klein reportedly has had continual contact with the Texans.
The cost is $50 per participant.
