COFFEYVILLE — The Barton Community College baseball team had its 2014 season come to an end Saturday as host Coffeyville took the best-of-three series with consecutive wins.
In Game 1, the East’s third-seeded Ravens scored three in the first inning to assume early command for a 8-2 win.
Then they ended the West’s sixth-seeded Cougars hopes in Game 2 with a six-run sixth en route to an 11-1 victory.
Having won six straight entering the postseason contest, Barton sees their season come to an abrupt end, finishing at 32-25-1.
Coffeyville improves to 36-21 and advances to the Region VI Super-Regional beginning on Friday in Wichita.
