Lady Cougars picked to finish fourth in conference

After reaching the NJCAA Region VI Championship match last season, the Barton Community College volleyball team was picked to finish fourth this season in the recently released Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference coaches poll.
The Lady Cougars begin the 2013 season on Friday and Saturday with four matches in Council Bluffs, Iowa, which include taking on No. 16 Western Wyoming on at 3 p.m. and Jefferson College at 7 p.m. on Friday.
On Saturday, Barton challenges top-ranked Western Nebraska at noon and Polk State at 3 p.m.
Barton will then travel to Hutchinson on Wednesday night to open the conference season against the preseason favorite Blue Dragons at 6:30 before playing its home opener on Saturday, Aug. 31, against Hesston at 11 a.m.
