OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN 1, KANSAS WESLEYAN 0 (10 innings)

No. 12 Oklahoma Wesleyan survived a brilliant pitching performance with a 10th-inning unearned run to outlast Kansas Wesleyan 1-0 in Friday's KCAC Baseball Tournament at the Great bend Sports Complex.

Underdog Kansas Wesleyan turned three double plays behind pitcher Jake Olofson (6-3), who threw 92/3 shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a spectacular two-hit, 126-pitch effort.

Dennis Ozuna scored the game-winning run when 3B Jeffrey Cochran mishandled a groundball hit by Colton Kelly after 10th-inning walks to Ozuna, Danny Perez and Rylee Peterson.

The Coyotes turned three double plays. Olofson benefited from a 6-4-3 fourth-inning double play by SS Craig Bettis and 2B Russell McClung. SS Bettis turned a 6-3 fifth-inning double play. 3B Jeff Cochran teamed with 2B McClung for a ninth-inning double play.

First-team All-KCAC Oklahoma Wesleyan P Michael Anderson yielded seven hits and struck out four batters in 10 shutout innings. Eagle C Rylee Peterson threw out a pair of Coyote baserunners.

Three-time KCAC champion Oklahoma Wesleyan (40-9) is the defending KCAC Tournament champion after beating York, Neb. 7-5 and 14-3 last year.

TABOR 5, STERLING 3

Tabor (37-16) edged Sterling 5-3 in Game 2. Tabor pitcher Hayden Wheeler worked eight innings.

Tabor led 2-0 on Will "The Thrill" Clark's two-run triple that scored Freddy Walker and Cameron Pope. Sterling's Wesley Galloway scored on a second-inning error and Matt McElroy scored on Armando Flores' sacrifice fly for a 2-2 tie.

Tabor scored three second-inning runs without an RBI. Dom Visentin scored on a wild pitch and Walker and Christian Stone scored on an error. Tabor SS Drake Girard and 2B Christian Stone turned a ninth-inning double play on Flores' groundball that saw Sterling's Galloway score.
