GARDEN CITY — Great Bend's No. 1 singles Brendyn Schroeder and No. 2 doubles Carlos Jacobo/Caden Bieker each placed third in Tuesday's 2021 Western Athletic Conference Tennis Championship.

Schroeder defeated Liberal's Jack Maxwell 8-3 for third place. Jacobo/Bieker downed Hays High's Edgar Alons/Logan Daniels 8-6 for third place. No. 2 singles Jordan Manning (0-4) and No. 1 doubles Malaki Wasson/Shiv Tushal (0-4) failed to win a match.

Garden City captured the WAC title with 15 points behind first-place No. 1 singles Logan Morren, No. 2 singles Colin Kleysteuber and No. 2 doubles John Tran/Joshua Negron. Dodge City's No. 1 doubles Charles Stillian/Abrham Hernandez placed first.
