The sixth-annual Great Bend Storm Special Olympics Turkey Bowl will kick off at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Great Bend High School’s Memorial Stadium. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
The event will feature seven-on-seven teams in flag football-style games and all ages are welcome. It is a single-elimination tournament if there are 12 teams or more, or double elimination if there are 12 teams or fewer. How long the tourney lasts depends on how many teams participate.
Games will be played from sideline to sideline, not goal to goal. This way, up to three games will be played at one time.
For an entry fee, organizers ask for a minimum of a $20 donation per player. All proceeds will go to the Storm.
Concessions will be available.
Needed are teams, money and or prizes for drawings, referees and other volunteers.
