KINGMAN — Zane Spinn's game-winning single sparked the Great Bend Bat Cats to a 4-3 victory over Kingman Sunday to salvage a split of a 4-game series. Spinn singled home Bodi Waller, who advanced to second base on a wild pitch after a ninth-inning walk.

It was one of the Bat Cats' best qualify wins after going 2-4 in their past six Sunflower Collegiate League baseball games. Great Bend (21-8, 17-7) lost a pair of 1-run decisions the previous two nights to Kingman.

Bat Cat starter Tyrus Riley threw seven quality innings with four strikeouts. Reliever Cade McWilliams (1-0) threw two scoreless innings.

Kingman scored a pair of fourth-inning runs. Jesus Cruz and Gavin Djorovich scored on Adam Mustow's error. Bat Cats shortstop Spinn and second baseman Colter Maldanado delivered a 6-4-3 double play on an Eric Foufoulas groundball.

Great Bend tied it 2-2 in the sixth inning. Colby Christian scored on Maldanado's single. Mustow scored on Riley Silva's single. Bodi Waller singled, stole second and third base and scored on a Foufoulas throwing error.

Hogan Shelby's seventh-inning home run off Riley tied the score 3-3 after seven innings.

McWilliams pitched two sharp innings. Shortstop Spinn turned Ben Waliczek's eighth-inning groundball into a 6-3 double play.
