BELOIT GIRLS 40, HOISINGTON 38

HOISINGTON – Beloit’s Brecken Boudreau spoiled Hoisington’s perfect record with the game-winning layup at the final buzzer for a wild 40-38 non-league basketball victory over Hoisington. Beloit outscored the Cardinals 15-6 in the fourth quarter.

Beloit's Addison Budke passed to Peyton Remus, who delivered the game-winning assist to Boudreaux. Beloit outscored the Cardinals 12-2 in the final four minutes after Jordyn Boxberger made two free throws. 

Beloit (5-3) trailed 23-12 after one quarter, but held the Cardinals (6-1) to 15 points in the final 24 minutes. Budke scored 16 points and Cassandra Thompson added 15 points and a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers.

The Cardinals started with a spectacular fast-paced first quarter. Ellie Crawford scored 12 points with six rebounds. Jordyn Boxberger added nine points. Hoisington didn't make a second-half field goal after Mollie Steiner's 3-pointerr with 1:50 left in the first half.
