KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Great Bend-based Bombers 14-and-under baseball team swept seven consecutive games to capture the AA Perfect Game Midwest State Baseball Tournament at the Mid-America Sports Complex. 

Coach Rex Kern’s Bombers (25-6) won three pool games and four bracket games to finish with an unbeaten record. The Bombers roared to leads of 5-0, 6-0, 8-0, 7-2 and 10-0 and 11-0. They rallied against the Upper Deck Wildcats after trailing 1-0.

The Bombers defeated the Olathe Jayhawks 14-5, Upper Deck Wildcats 8-2 and Yard Goats 9-1 in pool play. In bracket play, the Bombers downed Complete Game Miller 11-5, Wildcats 6-0, Mule Club 7-2 and the Topeka Warhawks 8-0 to win the championship.
