Buffaloes roar past Panthers, 10-0
Powerhouse Garden City rolled past Great Bend 10-0 in Friday’s Western Athletic Conference girls soccer showdown. Garden City (3-2-1, 2-0 WAC) dominated the game with a north wind gusting past 25 mph. Great Bend (2-3, 0-2 WAC) plays Dodge City (3-1, 0-1) at home Monday.
The Buffaloes controlled time of possession and connected on 10 goals on 35 attempts. Garden City’s Marcayla McGregor scored three goals. Ariel Martinez and Isabel Espino each converted two goals for the Buffaloes. Ivanee Medrano, Andrea Aguilar and Lluvia Gutierrez also scored goals.
Buffalo Jocelyn Sosa contributed three assists and Aguilar, McGregor and Wendy Zamudio had an assist. Garden City’s Laydaly Enriguez had three saves and Calderon Neira had two saves.
