Cardinals split with Halstead

HALSTEAD – Hoisington rallied with four runs in the sixth inning for a 10-8 victory over Halstead in Friday’s Central Kansas League baseball nightcap. Halstead won the opener 9-8.

CARDINALS 10, HALSTEAD 8 (G2) – Tony Moore delivered a valuable insurance run with a single to score M.J. Aylward. Alyward scored on Chase Steinert’s single. Moore and Leyton Haxton scored on groundouts and Steinert scored on an error in a 4-run sixth inning.

Lane French delivered two RBIs. Rhen Galla, Leyton Haxton and Preston Root also drove home runs.

HALSTEAD 9, CARDINALS 8 (G1) – The Cardinals scored eight runs, but it wasn’t enough. Steinert drove home three runs and French had two RBIs. Galla, Moore and Haxton drove home runs.

Halstead’s Kamden Wise and Alex Schulte each drove home two runs.
