LARNED — Kashlin Beck capped a 4-run seventh inning as Hoisington outlasted Larned 7-3 in Tuesday's Central Kansas League softball game. Jordyn Boxberger singled home Paige Lamatsch after a walk and stolen base for a 4-3 lead. Mollie Steinert walked to set up Beck's 3-run homer.

Tuesday's second game was canceled by thunderstorms.

Larned was poised for an upset in a 3-3 tie, but pitcher Boxberger retired Kiana Meyer and Kenzie Reinert to strand Karley Lemuz at third base. Larned's Thompson scored on Madison Wood's sixth-inning groundout and Alexa Ryersee scored on a Karley Lemuz groundball for a 3-3 tie.

Cardinal centerfielder Beck threw out Kenzie Reinert on Madison Reinert's fly ball for a fifth-inning double play. Third baseman Addyson Ogle threw out Kiana Meyer at home to start the fifth inning.

Emma Thompson singled home Kenzie Reinert in the first inning for a 1-0 lead. Boxberger scored a third-inning run for a 1-1 tie. Steiner's 2-run fifth-inning double scored Claire Crutcher and Boxberger.

Boxberger (8-2) earned the victory and Madison Wood (8-7) was tagged with the loss.
