HOISINGTON 41, MINNEAPOLIS 6
MINNEAPOLIS – Hoisington tailback Wyatt Pedigo rushed for 227 yards and scored three touchdowns to spark the Cardinals past Minneapolis 41-6 in 2A, District 8. Pedigo atoned for his second lost fumble with a shocking 98-yard touchdown run after the Cardinals stopped the Lions at the 2-yard line. Pedigo sacked the Lions for a loss on one of the goal-line plays. Pedigo had earlier lost a fumble near the goal-line to cost the Cardinals a touchdown right before halftime.
The Cardinals (5-1, 3-0 District) will travel to No. 1 ranked Phillipsburg (5-0, 2-0 District) for the District football championship.
Cardinal Xavier Robinson ignited the Cardinals with 5-and 76-yard touchdown runs for a 13-6 lead. Pedigo’s 48-yard touchdown handed the Cardinals a 20-6 halftime lead.
Pedigo added a 3-yard touchdown and Joshua Ball converted a 2-yard touchdown.
