McPHERSON— Following a doubleheader loss earlier in the week the Great Bend Chiefs regrouped Friday and came away with an 8-5 victory over the Kansas Cannons at this weekend’s Hooper Showcase. Logan Perry saddled the win for Great Bend while Miguel Sanchez collected the save. In Saturday competition, the Chiefs downed El Dorado 4-2 behind Anson Hall’s complete game victory. Great Bend then beat Ark City in a 12-2 decision to go 3-0 in pool play. The Chiefs sit at 12-10 on the season and will face either Buehler or Junction City in the semifinals of the Hooper Showcase Sunday at 4 p.m. Bryce Lytle will be the starter for Great Bend.
Chiefs rebound with sweep at Hooper Showcase
