Three-year starters MH Zoey Schwindt (242 serves received, 183 digs, 167 serves, 88 winners, 43 blocks) and Destiny Mitchell (376 serves received, 378 serves, 317 digs, 88 winners) headline a defensive oriented lineup.
Two-year starter Emma Bahr (221 assists, 185 serves, 110 digs) returns with varsity experience.
“We have four seniors heading up our team – Bri Croisant, Kaylee Ficken, Destiny Mitchell and Zoey Schwindt,” said Otis-Bison coach Janelle Maier. “There is a lot of potential in this group to do well which makes me excited for their leadership and the season.”
Maier emphasizes defense and two Liberos are battling for that position in the rugged Central Prairie League.
Lily Schwindt, Madyson Chapman, Grace Smith and Briana Croisant all gained experience in 2023.
“It’s nice to have our returning starters and several returning players to round out our roster,” she said. “Our goal is to improve our record and perform at our top level every match.”
In 2020, the Cougars advanced to the Class 1A Division 2 state quarterfinals.
