The Barton County Coyotes captured first place in the fifth-grade girls division at the Great Bend MAYB Basketball Tournament Jan. 20. The Coyotes (3-1) defeated the Hays Tribe 19-17 in the championship game. Team members are Kylie McCormick, Darcy Feist, Marilyn Soeken, DeShawnna Bryant, Sophia Skelton, Mackenzie LaViolette, Myra Kurth and Kara Feist.
