DODGE CITY — The Dodge City A’s outscored the Great Bend Bat Cats 11-1 after trailing 7-2 for a 13-8 Jayhawk League baseball victory Thursday. Great Bend (5-6) heads to Liberal Friday for a three-game series. Dodge City (6-3) plays at Derby.
The Bat Cats led 7-2 after 41/2 innings when the bullpen yielded 11 runs. The A’s broke a 7-7 tie with a six-run eighth inning off relievers Ryan Patrick and Alex Ruxlow. Josh Croby homered off Patrick after Dakota Conners reached on an eighth-inning error.
Brooks Asher singled home Corrigan Bartlett in the fourth inning. The Bat Cats scored six runs in the fifth inning. Brandon Bachar scored on Bartlett’s groundout. Pomeroy’s sacrifice fly scored Mateo Zunica. Asher’s single scored Michael Sinks and Jordan Wilkerson. Taylor Langston scored on Bachar’s hit-by-pitch. Zunica’s single scored Asher for a 7-2 lead.
Wilkerson homered in the ninth inning.
