DODGE CITY — A fourth-inning home run by Great Bend’s Corrigan Bartlett prevented a shutout in a 13-1 loss Tuesday to Jayhawk League leader Dodge City. Bartlett had two hits. Dodge City (5-2), journeys to Great Bend (4-5) for Wednesday’s game at Al Burns Field. Admission is free.
The Dodge City A’s scored six runs in the first inning and 13 runs off Bat Cats starter Austin Pritchard. Austin Feist drilled a grand slam. Bennett Hostetler and Dakota Conners singled and Josh Crosby and Wyatt Champlina and Matt Campos followed with walks for a 2-0 lead. Feist ripped a homer to centerfield for a 6-0 lead.
Feist drove in six runs and Conners and Champlin each drove in two runs. A’s pitcher Adam Thies worked six innings and struck out eight batters.
